The initial planned purchase fell through at the 11th hour. A victim of the mortgage crisis, the owner didn't forecast the fees into her calculations and found herself owing $17000 on top of what she had thought. We acted fast, bidding and securing a much nicer house around the corner.
OK. So we moved in on May 10!!! Moving day was stressful, but very simple compared to prior similar days. Elissa did an awesome job of setting up the house the first week. So awesome, in fact, that when we had a fake house-warming mini-bbq last weekend, somebody asked how long we had been living there and was surprised to hear that it was so recent.
Graham is really enjoying the place. His relationship with Shirley is so sweet, it's amazing. Today is my work-from-home day, and every time I turn around Shirley is trying to snuggle close enough to KG so he can play with her ears and stuff. We have a really nice lawn out back, something I've surprisingly never had, and it's really great being able to just wander out there to roll around on a blanket with him.
Tooth count! By this time tomorrow it's safe to say that his 4 front teeth will be in. He's starting on Cheerios as of Elissa's grocery run yesterday, and, unless she didn't tell me, I saw him successfully transfer his first one from plate to mouth. He doesn't have the 'turn your hand' thing right. Even when he manages to manipulate the 'o' with his thumb and pointer finger, he sticks the face of his fist into his mouth and drops it into his lap. O well.
